Welcome to the Macomb Park District official media resource hub. Whether you are partnering with us on a community event, writing a news story, or designing a promotional flyer, please use the below information and use the approved assets to keep our park district's visual identity consistent across our community.

1. About the Macomb Park District

Established in 1947, the Macomb Park District is dedicated to protecting public open spaces, assessing community recreational needs, and delivering innovative programs that improve the quality of life in Macomb, Illinois. The District proudly oversees 12 well-maintained public parks packed with diverse activities like fishing, hiking trails, sports facilities, and playgrounds.

For active family recreation and sports, the Ball Fore Family Entertainment Center serves as a premier community attraction, offering an 18-hole miniature golf course, batting cages, driving ranges, and sand volleyball courts. The District also features vibrant community gathering spaces like Patton Park, which offers essential green spaces, playground zones, walking paths, and a dedicated community dog park, alongside widespread regional support for youth and adult athletic leagues across various baseball diamonds and sports courts.

In addition to these major recreational hubs, the District offers an extensive network of nature and cultural facilities. The Lakeview Nature Area & Center stands as an environmental education hub constructed from hand-hewn oak timbers and nestled within 80 acres of diverse ecosystems, including 55 acres of restored native tallgrass prairie. The lower level of the center serves as a collaborative learning space that hosts the District’s signature Nature Makers Workshops, where youth and adult makers combine personal creativity with natural and raw materials, crafting everything from botanical cyanotype prints to needle-felted seasonal landscapes using foraged elements.

Beyond nature education, the District actively fosters local arts and culture through its dedicated Macomb Park District Ceramics Studio. The studio offers a robust slate of Day in Clay workshops, adult ceramics courses, and youth clay labs equipped with modern potter's wheels and kilns. Through vibrant community partnerships, modern recreational endeavors, and unique art programs, the Macomb Park District continues to be a regional leader in public outdoor hospitality and active living.
