  • Be prepared for no access to public restrooms or water fountains/
  • While on trails, warn other users of your presence.

  • Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals at all times. If this is not possible, users should find an alternate location or depart that space.
Our local parks have served as places of respite, where people can seek peace and restoration. Macomb Park District – Updated COVID-19 Response

The Macomb Park District is committed to protecting the health and safety of our staff and community. We are working with our community partners to make the most informed decisions possible.

In accordance with the recent Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and State of Illinois guidelines that have been released and respecting the health and well-being of everyone associated with the Park District, we will be taking the following precautions effective immediately:
  • All Group programming classes, activities and events hosted by the Macomb Park District are suspended until further notice. Park District staff will be working to reach out to those affected in the coming days.
  • All facility rentals will have been canceled through March 31,2020. District leadership will evaluate facility rentals for April based on the continued development of information on COVID-19.
  • Macomb Park District main office will operate on a virtual basis until further notice. We are not suspending or closing operations. Staff will continue to serve our community and conduct business on a remote basis until further notice. District employees can be reached via phone or email.
  • While our parks will remain open, restroom facilities will remain closed until further notice. Patrons are encouraged to consider social distancing and good hygiene while using our parks and trails.
  • While we are disappointed to have to cancel programming and restrict facility use temporarily, it is our hope that the early response to COVID-19 will help to limit its impact and allow us to get back to full program levels sooner. We stand committed to do whatever we can to support the health and wellness of our community and these short-term closures will accomplish that. District leadership will be continually monitoring the news as information develops daily for updated procedures that may need to be take.
